Abstract

Epilepsy, a widespread neurological disorder, has a substantial global impact, especially in low- and middle-income countries. Early and precise epilepsy detection could prevent around 70% of seizures. The Electroencephalogram (EEG) is a vital tool for recording neurological data in epilepsy patients. Recent advancements in automatic epilepsy detection methods, including signal processing, machine learning and deep learning, has gained significant attention. This paper provides a thorough examination of the most effective and precise method for detecting epilepsy, with a specific emphasis on utilizing EEG-based machine learning and deep learning approaches for diagnosing seizures.
