Abstract

India, which is frequently praised as a thriving democracy and a country with a diverse culture, struggles with a pervasive problem: crimes against women. Despite the advancements made in numerous areas, acts of violence, harassment, and discrimination against women continue to occur across the nation, underscoring enduring institutional, social, and cultural issues. The digital world has evolved into a double-edged sword as India experiences tremendous technological improvements, creating new opportunities but also giving rise to a troubling trend: technology crimes against women. The safety, privacy, and general wellbeing of women are gravely threatened by the rise in cyberbullying, online harassment, and stalking in recent years. This article attempts to shed light on the worrying increase in technology-related crimes against women in India, look at the underlying causes, and consider effective countermeasures.
