Abstract

ICT response to special education requirements creates new avenues for inclusion and engagement in school culture. Research indicates that technology can act as a form of cognitive prosthetic for many individuals with impairments, helping them to overcome or make up for their individual learning deficiencies. ICT may assist to establish the circumstances for equal chance to learn and equal access to the curriculum for everyone, which has major implications for students with special needs. In this particular context, a research study is undertaken to explore the perspectives of students in special schools regarding the implementation of an Information and Communication Technology (ICT)-based teaching and learning environment in Odisha. A comprehensive survey involving 400 students was conducted to gather insights into various aspects of incorporating ICT in the school system. The collected data underwent analysis through Exploratory Factor Analysis to derive meaningful patterns and trends.
