Charting the Medical Tourism Horizon in India: Resolving the Challenges Ahead

Abstract
The tourism industry is projected to contribute US$ 250 billion to India’s GDP up to 2030 along with generating employment for 137 million people. According to the Ministry of Tourism, Foreign tourist arrivals (FTAs) in March 2023 were 7,95,827 as compared to 3,42,308 in March 2022 with a growth rate of 132.5%. Tourism is a composite industry which consists of various segments which can produce a wide range of products and services. The motivational aspects that influence traveling decisions can be categorized as physical motivators, cultural motivators, interpersonal motivators, and status and prestige motivators. Tourism is now widely recognized as the world's largest industry and its growth is creating rapid social, economic, and environmental changes which require detailed understanding and measures to manage it.

To study about the growing Tourism industry in India.
To review & discuss the challenges for the Indian Tourism industry.
Research Methodology:
For this paper Secondary data are collected from sources such as the Internet, newspapers, articles, governments’ websites, various publications, personal records, and online travel journals.
