Abstract

This study surveyed 100 individuals in Spain to explore motivations and interests in NGO involvement. The findings highlight the diverse demographics of potential NGO founders and participants, with strong interests in Environment, Human Rights, and Health.


Motivations for NGO engagement are driven by personal experiences, commitment to causes, a desire to contribute, and an interest in activism. Many respondents bring prior volunteer or non-profit experience.


Preferences for various NGO types, including humanitarian aid, rights advocacy, research, awareness, and community development organizations, offer insights into potential focus areas.


Overall, this research provides a foundational understanding of motivations and interests in NGO foundation in Spain. It informs future studies and initiatives aimed at addressing societal and environmental challenges through NGO development and social activism.
