IoT for Predictive Maintenance and Productivity Enhancement in PVC Cable Manufacturing
Main Article Content
Abstract
In this paper, we explore the various benefits of integrating Internet of Things (IoT) technology into the PVC cable manufacturing industry. By combining quantitative analysis, case studies, and qualitative data, this study examines how IoT can be used to improve predictive maintenance, increase productivity as a result of advanced alerts, such as the Andon system, and to enhance the effectiveness of IoT as a whole.A key finding of the study is that the implementation of the Internet of Things has led to a 35% reduction in unscheduled machine downtime as well as a 25% improvement in production efficiency, among other things. It has been proven that IoT-enabled predictive maintenance systems are extremely effective in predicting equipment failures and thereby extending the longevity of machinery, which in turn has resulted in reduced capital expenditure over time.As a result of the IoT, manufacturers have also been able to improve the traceability and visibility of their manufacturing processes through real-time data analysis. As the paper concludes, the integration of IoT into the PVC cable manufacturing industry is not merely an add-on, but is essential for achieving operational excellence and retaining competitive advantages.
