OptiVision: Glaucoma and Eye Diseases Detecting System
Main Article Content
Abstract
In the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, global awareness has intensified regarding the paramount importance of health as the ultimate wealth. The imperative to lead a healthy life has become a universal priority, facilitated by the ever-evolving landscape of technology. Technological advancements, particularly in the realm of healthcare, have significantly enhanced disease detection and treatment efficiency. Among the prevalent health concerns are eye-related diseases, where early detection and adherence to proper medical procedures can mean the difference between maintaining healthy eyesight and the onset of blindness. Traditionally, specialized tools wielded by Ophthalmologists have been pivotal in conducting tests for diseases like Glaucoma and Cataract. However, the integration of Artificial Intelligence applications has emerged as a transformative approach, streamlining the detection process and facilitating both patient and practitioner experiences. This paper introduces a comprehensive web application designed to revolutionize the detection of Glaucoma using a Deep Learning model. In addition, it is capable of detecting several other eye conditions such as Color Blindness, Visual Acuity issues, Cataract, and Contrast Sensitivity challenges. The proposed application not only expedites the detection process, achieving an 83% accuracy level with training on 6000 images, but also establishes a direct channel of communication between patients and doctors. Additionally, the application features a recovery system, enhancing patient care and engagement. The integration of Artificial Intelligence in healthcare, as exemplified by this web application, underscores the potential to usher in a new era of efficient, accessible, and patient-centric medical solutions.
