Abstract

Electric vehicles (EVs) represent a pivotal and sustainable solution within the contemporary industrial landscape, heralding a departure from fossil fuel dependency and serving as an environmentally conscientious mode of transportation. This study endeavors to delineate the burgeoning EV market within Tamil Nadu. Employing a descriptive methodology, the study scrutinized a sample cohort of 203 participants.The key findings derived from this investigation highlight pivotal challenges hindering the widespread adoption of EVs, notably encompassing the limited market availability, vehicular maintenance concerns, and the absence of comprehensive governmental policies conducive to fostering EV uptake. These barriers significantly impede the mass acceptance and integration of EVs into the mainstream transportation sector.Conclusively, the study underscores a promising prospect for the evolution and prevalence of EVs in the foreseeable future. However, the realization of this potential necessitates a comprehensive strategic roadmap. Addressing the identified impediments demands a concerted effort from government bodies, emphasizing the imperative need for progressive policy initiatives and multifaceted measures to encourage both the adoption and production of EVs. Such proactive steps not only fortify the sustainability of transportation but also contribute significantly to environmental conservation and resource preservation on a global scale."
